1. It is forbidden to stay long on the back of an animal (Horse, Donkey, and Camel) when it is not in motion. The Prophet (SAW) is reported to have reported thus: "Do not turn your animals into chair", narrated by Ahmed and Haakim.
2. The starving of animals and thus causing them to weaken and reducing their weights is forbidden. It is reported that once the Prophet (SAW) passed by an animal with its back almost touching its stomach because of starvation and he said "fear Allah in these animals that do not talk, ride them healthy and eat them healthy" narrated by Abu Dawood, Ibn Khuzaima.
3. Forbidden is the over working of animals. It is also reported in another hadeeth that once the Prophet (SAW) entered a garden owned by Amman from the Ansaar and he saw a Camel. When the Camel saw the Prophet (SAW) it started crying with tears coming out of its eyes. The Prophet (SAW) approached the Camel and rubbed off the tears asking, "who is the owner of this camel". The owner replied "it is mine, Oh Prophet of Allah". The prophet (SAW) then said "Don't you fear Allah (SWT) in these animals which the Almighty made you owners? "Indeed your animal complained to me that you starve and overwork it" narrated by Ahmad and Dawood.
